How I work
My philosophy is about bringing you the absolute best on health, diet, nutrition and whole-body wellness to help you look good and feel great, keeping it relevant and honest as I go.
Wherever you’re at on your health journey, I’ll help you shift your status quo from your current situ to amazingly well. You’ll learn how to let go of symptoms that are zapping your wellbeing – like excess weight, lethargy, bloating, bad skin, food cravings, mood swings and foggy thinking.
I’ve worked in the health and coaching world for more than 20 years. And if you hadn’t already guessed, I have an insatiable passion for coaching women on how to love their body and enjoy optimal health.
Experiences have a canny way of shaping us and you can read more about mine further on – it’s another reason for doing what I do. Plus, for a long time, I’ve had this fascination to learn everything I can about health and wellness, and to develop my own ideas on what it means to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
Since graduating from the Functional Medicine University and Institute for Integrative Nutrition 6 years ago, I’ve run a myriad of workshops and worked with women, all over the world.
While I talk a lot about food, like exercise, it’s an integral part of a healthy lifestyle, but as I’ve discovered neither are enough in their own right.
Feeling that healthy, balanced and energised buzz from within, and having a confident, content and intentional glow about life, requires working with our health and body as a whole, in a profound, meaningful and effective way. And this is why I use the functional medicine model to help individuals really heal and strengthen their bodies from within. So, my teachings revolve around connecting all those crazy healthy body, mind and life dots together, to bring about whole-body wellness and optimal health.
Why I chose to specialise in health and wellness
Many years ago, I burnt myself out from trying to sustain a full-on life – at home, at work, in relationships, as well as a social life, regular exercise and healthy eating. Can you relate to this? Because let’s be honest, the pressure on us to look good, perform in all areas of our lives, and strike some balance is modern day norm. In short, I understand where you’re coming from if you’re striving to stay on top of life and all that this entails. Or if you're struggling with your health right now.
During this difficult period in my life, my health, wellbeing and vibrant lifestyle took a nose dive. I struggled with energy, concentration, sleep, bodily aches, bloating, weight gain and weight loss as well as the knock-on frustration this had on my everyday life.
Not only did I make changes to my diet and lifestyle, but I also turned to functional medicine to figure out the underlying cause behind my health distress. Functional lab tests showed gut infections and dysbiosis, as well as nutrient insufficiencies, hormonal imbalance and metabolic plus immune challenges. It wasn't great! I also had a genetic test to highlight my biological strengths and weaknesses. And then armed with both physiological and biological evidence-based information and, the help of a knowledgeable practitioner, I felt empowered to start a journey of naturally healing my body and restoring my health.
My journey (back then) was a learning experience with a positive outcome. One that’s not only given me the determination and understanding to hold onto optimal health, but also to share my wealth of knowledge with other women, so they too can experience what it feels like to live life in vibrant health on a daily basis.
How I stay looking young for my age (I'm told)
Ageing is inevitable. But looking and feeling young (for your age) no matter where you’re at on the maturing scale, is as you know, chiefly within our control.
My approach to youthful ageing is simple and comes from within. It's about embracing food, nutrition and whole-body wellness. To glow on the outside, we must first work on the inside.
As well as making healthy eating and nutrition a top priority, I squeeze self-care practices into my busy lifestyle. I’ve learnt that failing to do so deprives me of optimal health and wellness.
I also believe that living well is an essential part of everyday life. However you spend your time, it’s important to feel fulfilled and content with life. Sometimes we need reminding when we’re caught up in the frenetic pace of modern living, that we only live once.
My Fabulously Healthy (online plan) includes everything you need to know to upgrade your health and downgrade your age. If you’re ready to anti-age your health, get on the waitlist so that you’ll be first in line when the plan opens in Autumn 2019.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit. I’m thrilled we’re connected and I’m excited for the journey ahead.
With love and healthy wishes
